What is Maternal Mortality?

Maternal mortality is the death of a woman during pregnancy, at delivery, or soon after she gives birth. In the United States about 700 women die each year from pregnancy or delivery complications. This website's purpose is to provide information about maternal mortality and to provide links to resources that give in depth information to raise awareness on this important issue.
